Your session takes place in my cosy studio in Manvers, just outside Rotherham — a calm, welcoming space designed with little ones in mind.
We begin with simple birthday portraits, allowing your baby to settle, explore, and interact naturally.
There’s no rush.
Everything is led by your baby’s pace — whether they’re full of energy, feeling a little unsure, or somewhere in between.
Once they feel comfortable, we can introduce the cake (if you’ve chosen to include one), allowing those natural, playful, and sometimes messy moments to unfold.
I gently guide where needed, but the focus is always on creating a relaxed experience where your baby can simply be themselves.

What should my baby wear for their birthday photoshoot?
Styling is kept soft, simple, and natural to ensure your images feel timeless and beautifully understated.
Neutral tones such as white, cream, beige, and soft earthy shades work beautifully within the studio, helping to create a calm and cohesive look.
Simple outfits without logos or bold patterns allow your baby’s personality to take centre stage.
You’re welcome to bring your own outfits, or choose from a small selection available in the studio.
You’ll also have a choice of backdrops, including my signature classic white setup, which creates that clean, timeless Orchard & Ivory style.

Including Your Family
Can parents and siblings be included in the session?
Yes — and these images often become the most meaningful.
Family photos can be taken at the beginning of your session, before the cake is introduced.
These moments capture connection, closeness, and the love surrounding your baby at this milestone.
They’re not just birthday photos — they’re part of your family story.
What to Expect
What do I need to bring, and how long does the session take?
Birthday and cake smash sessions are designed to feel calm, flexible, and completely baby-led.
I recommend allowing up to around one hour, giving us time for portraits, outfit changes, and cake smash moments without overwhelming your baby.
You don’t need to bring much — just your baby essentials and the cake if you’d like one included.
I don’t supply cakes due to allergy considerations, so you’ll need to bring one along. Simple buttercream cakes work best for those soft, messy moments.
Everything else is taken care of — so you can simply relax and enjoy the experience.
